The Hortus Ludi Gatehouse in Nijmegen, Netherlands, stands as a pioneering example of innovative architecture, serving as one of the first projects to utilize Pretty Plastic tiles as a roofing material.

Completed in 2023, this architectural phenomenon showcases the versatility and durability of our Dark Grey tiles, which seamlessly blend aesthetics with functionality. Designed by Architectuur Maken, this gatehouse not only welcomes visitors but also represents a commitment to sustainable building practices.

With a total area of 99 square meters, the project demonstrates how our tiles can transform traditional roofing into a modern, eco-friendly solution. With this project, we upcycled 2,396 KG of plastic waste. Through the lens of Het Houtblad, the striking visual appeal of the gatehouse highlights the integration of our tiles, marking a significant milestone in the evolution of sustainable architecture.
